FreedomPay Device Not Attached

This article will provide steps to troubleshoot and remediate issues with FreedomPay pinpad devices not being detected the POS.

This issue is usually caused by Windows update or a change to the domain settings. Sometimes Windows Update will delete the pinpad drivers. This will cause the pinpad not to be recognized by FreedomPay and the POS terminal. You will then see the message below.

To fix this issue, you need to re-install the Freedompay drivers. Make sure the POS application is closed on the terminal you are installing the drivers on. Uninstall Freedom Pay drivers from Control Panel. 

Reinstall Freedom Pay drivers from this location:

"C:\ Program Files (x86) \ FreedomPay \ FreewayCommerceConnect"

Installer name: FreewayMSRDRiverMsi.msi

Once the installer opens, click ‘Next,’ ‘Install,’ then ‘Finish.’ Once the install has completed, restart the Freeway Client Service:
